There are a few St. Patrick’s Day events happening in Bradford West Gwillimbury and area this weekend, plus several other family-friendly activities.

SATURDAY, MARCH 16

Yoga

9 a.m. to noon

Trinity Anglican Church, 62 Church St., Bradford

Cost is $15 each session or five sessions for $60

The yoga style is restorative in nature with an emphasis on mobility. The target group is 50+ but these yoga classes can certainly benefit most age groups. Beginners are welcome. Classes are every Saturday in March.

Seedy Saturday

9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

BWG Public Library, 425 Holland St. W., Bradford

The new BWG Seed Library holds its first Seedy Saturday, with displays, gardening workshops, kids’ activities, vendors and displays.

Barrie Spring Garden and Home Show

Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sunday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Bradford Greenhouses Garden Gallery in Barrie, 4346 Highway 90

Great prizes, live fashion shows at 2 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday, plus vendors and demonstrations.

Hear Frankie “Flowers” Ferragine at 11 a.m. on Saturday on: How to cut your gardening time in half while maximizing your blooms.

Talent Show Auditions

1-5 p.m.

Newton Robinson Hall, 4310 Line 10, BWG

Got talent? The Tec-we-Gwill Women’s Institute is holding a talent show, and is looking for musicians, singers, dancers, actors, comedians, magicians, etc., from across South Simcoe.

The talent show will take place at the hall on Saturday, April 6 from 7-8:30 p.m.

Library Lockdown: Charlie’s Chocolate Factory

1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Lakeshore Branch of the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library, 967 Innisfil Beach Rd.

Teams of six can register for a 20-minute session to follow the clues and unlock a delicious secret. For ages four to 12. Pre-register at the library.

Innisfil Historical Society meets

2 p.m.

Knock Schoolhouse Heritage Site, 10 Sideroad and Line 9 in Innisfil

Guest speaker is Carolyn J. Morris, children’s author whose books capture rural living and farm life.

St. Paddy’s Day Party

7 p.m.

Bradford legion, 115 Back St.

Featuring live music with Rikki’s Rock Slide, prizes for Best Green Outfit, sandwiches and snacks.

Tickets are $10 per person, plus an item of non-perishable food for the food bank. Available at the legion or by calling 905-775-5025.

Soulstack and Johnny Max Band

8-10:30 p.m.

Theatre Aurora, 150 Henderson Dr., Aurora

Funk, Blues, and Detroit-influenced rock ’n’ roll. Part of the 2019 Aurora Winter Blues Festival.

Royal Canadian Legion - Tottenham, 25 Richmond St. E., New Tecumseth

Free event for adults.

Paint our legion green this St. Patrick's Day. Featuring Tottenham's own Sean Bourke. Get dressed up and be Irish for the day.

St. Patrick’s Day Ham and Scalloped Potato Supper

5-7 p.m.

Churchill United Church, 6306 Yonge St., Innisfil

Irish whiskey tasting

7-9 p.m.

The Speakcheasy, 123 Dunlop St. E. (lower level), Barrie

Cost is $65.

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with fine food, worldly cheese, and an Irish whiskey tasting.
