The Mudmen unleash a storm of Celtic rock in Bradford (16 photos)

The popular Celtic band's performance capped this year's Bradford's Music in the Park series and drew a record crowd to event

The Mudmen, Celtic rock warriors, stormed into Bradford on Wednesday evening for the final concert in the Town of Bradford’s Music in the Park Series.

The final concert was also the biggest.

The Mudmen have had a loyal and extensive following ever since brothers Sandy and Robby Campbell were joined by the rest of the band in 1998.

The fiercely Canadian/Celtic roots group have performed over 3,000 shows – including Canadian Walk of Fame Ceremonies, NHL hockey games, Brier Curling events, WWE Wrestling, Don Cherry videos, and a Canada Day performance for Queen Elizabeth II.

Their fans packed the west lawn at the Bradford Library for the free outdoor show, obviously enjoying the combination of rock guitar, bagpipes, banjo and drums. Some wore their tartans in Celtic solidarity.

From the opening song, I Know Where I Came From, through the two-hour performance, fans clapped, sang and danced along. It seemed a perfect touch that the concert took place within view of a Canadian Tire store and a Tim Hortons.

The Mudmen played on the Vaughan Chrysler outdoor stage on another perfect summer evening when the only storm was the Celtic energy unleashed by the band.

The concert ends Music in the Park for this year.
