Team RBC was at it again this week.
The volunteers – all staff members at the local RBC branch – donated their time and energy to the Helping Hand Food Bank in Bradford West Gwillimbury to help restock the shelves.
They also donned rubber gloves, removed the non-perishable food from every shelf, and then washed the shelves before restocking – and contributed a $1,000 Team RBC grant.
“We work with the food bank because they need the help,” said Wayne Brakeboer, RBC community manager. “The role they play in the community is vital, and while the money is important, so are helping hands.”
It was a two-hour effort that left the shelves sparkling and the food bank's president Anne Silvey grinning with delight – and if there were “a few sore muscles” the next day, said Brakeboer, there were also “more glad hearts.”
The food bank is located at 123 Moore St. For more information on Bradford’s Helping Hand Food Bank, see bradfordfoodbank.ca.
