Like so many local “Swifties,” snagging a ticket to pop superstar Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Toronto in November was close to impossible.
But fans might just be about to get the next best thing.
On Jan. 31, online ticket and event promoter QuikTix is hosting Taylor’s Story, described as one of the most in-demand Taylor Swift tribute acts, at The Ranch 2.0 in downtown Barrie.
Billed as the largest country bar in Canada, the Bayfield Street establishment will serve as a fitting stage for the high-energy tribute show, organizers say.
An after-party is also scheduled in collaboration with Barrie’s newest club LIARS Kitchen + Social. Organizers say the aim is to draw crowds downtown, give local businesses a mid-winter boost and remind people that Barrie’s nightlife is alive and well — even in January’s deep freeze.
“By bringing these local businesses together … my goal is to showcase how community partnerships can thrive in off-peak seasons," said Ovi Grigorescu, QuikTix co-founder and director of business development. "I believe Barrie’s downtown has so much to offer, and events like this are an opportunity to help our local scene flourish year-round."
