NEWS RELEASE
TOWN OF INNISFIL
*************************
INNISFIL – Hot on the heels of a $1 million donation from local onion farmer, Boris Horodynsky, representatives from the Rizzardo Health and Wellness Centre (RHWC) are thrilled to announce the community’s continued support as they lead into the busy holiday giving season.
“The Town of Innisfil is so grateful to have our community’s help building the Rizzardo Health and Wellness Centre,” said Mayor Lynn Dollin. “Philanthropic acts have a way of inspiring others and, when kindness and generosity multiply, our residents are the ones who benefit.”
Innisfil Community Events Corporation (ICE Corp) recently stepped forward with a $12,500 donation to the RHWC. The organization is a fixture in the community for the past 24 years and has helped fund boat launch improvements and the Innisfil Recreation Centre.
“We look around the community for the need – the big things,” explains ICE Corp member Rod Boynton. “Health care is a major need for our community. Just one look at the Walk-In Clinic lineup in Town Hall and the need is obvious. We’re proud to do our part to help bring healthcare closer to home.”
Allan Brown, a Toronto-area developer with deep Innisfil roots, generously donated $25,000 to the RHWC.
“Our family is proud to support the community in any way we can,” says Brown. “We feel it is our responsibility to participate in creating great projects like The Rizzardo Health and Wellness Centre which will benefit all residents of The Town of Innisfil – now, and in the future.”
In addition, the Sandycove Gift and Craft Sale Committee recently donated $300, and a young child brought a $5 bill to the customer service desk at Town Hall saying she wanted to ‘help the health centre’.
“It’s important to know that every single gift makes a difference,” says Mayor Dollin. “We are counting on our community to give generously this holiday season, and we are grateful for every dollar we receive.”
The Rizzardo Health and Wellness Centre’s holiday fundraising campaign is underway! Donations can be made online, in person at Town Hall, or by calling Jenn at 705-436-3710 ext. 2426. Donations of $20 or more made before Dec. 31 will be eligible for a 2018 tax receipt.
