It has been a great year for the Bradford Farmers’ Market, said market manager Laura Vree.
“I think it’s been our best year ever. We’ve had the best quality vendors, a happy attitude, great volunteers!” she said.
But all good things come to an end, and Oct. 6 is the final day for the outdoor market at its location beside the Bradford West Gwillimbury Public Library at 425 Holland St. W.
The market will be wrapping up with something special, said Vree.
“A Harvest Festival, and thanks to our customers — just a reminder it’s a great place to get everything they need for Thanksgiving, from appetizers to dessert.”
There will be musical entertainment by Russ Clayton, an array of meats, fresh produce and baking — including Vree’s sweet handmade cookies, and seasonal pies and tarts at Sweet Annabella’s — and a chance to win a harvest basket filled with goodies donated by the vendors.
The Harvest Festival and customer appreciation will take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday.
There will be one more outdoor market at BWG’s second-annual Pumpkinfest, taking place Oct. 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Henderson Memorial Park. That will feature many favourite vendors from this summer’s Bradford Farmers’ Market.
Then there will be a break until November, when the market returns indoors at the BWG Public Library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for seven weeks — Nov. 3,10, 17 and 24, and Dec. 1, 15 and 22.
