There are six new COVID-19 cases being reported in Simcoe County schools today.
There is one new case being reported today at The Good Shepherd Catholic School in Barrie, with one classroom closed. This adds to one case previously reported at the Cloughley Drive school.
There are four new COVID-19 cases being reported in Bradford schools today. One new case being reported at Fieldcrest Elementary School, while three new cases are being reported at Fred C. Cook Elementary School with two classrooms closed.
A new case is being reported at Boyne River Public School, with two classrooms closed. This adds to two cases previously reported at the Alliston school.
There are four Simcoe County schools that have active outbreaks declared by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit: Holy Cross Catholic School in Innisfil, Our Lady of Grace in Angus, Holy Trinity Catholic High School in Bradford, and Andrew Hunter Elementary School in Barrie.
According to the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit site, an outbreak is declared at a school when student and/or staff have confirmed COVID-19 cases that can be linked to the educational setting.
As of March 26 at the Simcoe County District School Board, there are currently 23 active COVID-19 cases:
- One case at Fieldcrest Elementary School in Bradford
- Three cases at Fred C. Cook Elementary School in Bradford with two classrooms closed
- Three cases at Boyne River Public School in Alliston, with two classrooms closed
- Two cases at Cookstown Central Public School in Cookstown, with two classrooms closed
- One case at Ernest Cumberland Elementary School in Alliston, with one classroom closed
- One case at Severn Shores Public School in Cumberland Beach, with one classroom closed
- Two cases at Steele Street Public School in Barrie, with two classrooms closed
- One case at West Bayfield Elementary School in Barrie
- Two cases at Banting Memorial High School in Alliston, with one classroom closed
- One case at Twin Lakes Secondary School in Orillia, with one classroom closed
- One case at Hillcrest Elementary School in Barrie, with one classroom closed
- One case at Allandale Heights Public School in Barrie, with one classroom closed
- Two cases at Ferndale Woods Elementary School in Barrie, with one classroom closed
- One case at Innisdale Secondary School in Barrie with one classroom closed
- One case at Portage View Public School in Barrie
At the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, there are currently 31 active COVID-19 cases:
- One case at Foley Catholic School in Brechin, no classrooms closed, reported on Mar. 24
- One case at Monsignor J.E. Ronan Catholic School in Beeton, no classrooms closed, reported on Mar. 24
- Two cases at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Midland, one classroom closed, reported on Mar. 24
- Two cases at The Good Shepherd Catholic School in Barrie, one classroom closed, reported on Mar. 25
- St. John Paul II Catholic School in Barrie has two cases with no classrooms closed, reported on Mar. 21
- St. Paul's Catholic School in Alliston has one case and one classroom closure, reported on Mar. 19
- Holy Cross Catholic School in Innisfil has eight cases, with one classroom closed, reported on Mar. 23, outbreak declared Mar. 16
- St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School in Innisfil has one case and no classroom closures, reported on Mar. 15
- St. Mary's Catholic School in Barrie has one case and one classroom closure, reported on Mar. 13
- St. Peter's Catholic Secondary School in Barrie has one case and one classroom closure, reported on Mar. 16
- Father F.X. O'Reilly Catholic School in Tottenham has one case, and one classroom closure reported on Mar. 17
- Our Lady of Grace Catholic School in Angus has three cases and one classroom closure, reported on Mar. 16, outbreak declared Mar. 14
- St. Michael the Archangel Catholic School in Barrie has one case and no classroom closures, reported on Mar. 10
- St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School in Barrie has two cases with two classroom closures, reported Mar. 14
- Holy Trinity Catholic High School in Bradford has two cases, with two classroom closures, reported on Mar. 22, outbreak declared Mar. 2
- St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School has two cases, with no classroom closures, reported on Mar. 18
ÉSC Nouvelle-Alliance in Barrie has one case, reported on Mar. 24.
The health unit will contact those who are considered to have had high-risk exposure to a known case of COVID-19.
