Community members gathered Saturday morning to celebrate the grand opening of the new Shoppers Drug Mart in Bradford's west end.
This is owner Igor Gasic's third location. He also owns the Shoppers in Bradford's east end of town and the store in East Gwillimbury.
"I just wanted to thank everyone for coming out today to support our store," said Gasic, who thanked his store team. "We are all very excited to be part of Bradford and to continue to serve this growing community."
The new store is a traditional blend of both the Bradford and East Gwillimbury locations, with a more open-concept Beauty Boutique.
"I am incredibly happy and incredibly relieved, I am proud of my team, it took a lot to get this done," said store manager Matthew McRae.
The new store has a Beauty Boutique and pharmacy. There is no Canada Post but residents can continue to use the east-end location for postal services.
"I am so thrilled to be here today to open up our second Shoppers in Bradford West Gwillimbury," said Mayor James Leduc, who presented Gasic with a certificate of achievement. "We really appreciate the investment by Igor and his team to come to Bradford and be a successful business in our community."
Bradford Board of Trade President Ryan Shapcott also presented Gasic and his team with a certificate of congratulations.
"This is a wonderful occasion for us that we have two Shoppers Drug Marts on both ends serving the whole town," added Deputy Mayor Raj Sandhu.
After the ribbon cutting, attendees and shoppers were treated to some cupcakes and a complimentary swag bag.
The new store is located in the Holland Street Square Plaza at 484 Holland St. West.
