Nothing says “Autumn” better than a bowl of piping hot soup…

Holland Marsh Soupfest celebrates the harvest, local food and soup, October 5 at Ansnorveldt Park, 18997 Dufferin St. in King Township – in the heart of the Holland Marsh.

Restaurateurs, caterers, chefs, home cooks, culinary schools and their students participate every year, creating soups from the classic to the unique, using produce provided by the Holland Marsh Growers’ Association.  They vie for recognition, acclaim and awards, in this annual event that is a locavore’s dream.

In addition to the soup samples, available in the big tent, the food festival includes vendors, displays, a farmers’ market, and live music.

Tickets can be purchased online in advance here, until noon on Oct. 4 – only $12 for adults ages 18 and older (for 5 samples), $7 for Seniors (60+) and Students with ID for 5 samples, $5 for children and youth (3 samples), or Family passes (2 adults, 2 children/youth) for $30.

At the door, prices will go up to $15 for adults, $10 for Srs and Students, $5 for children/youth, $35 for a family pass.

Holland Marsh Soupfest runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 5 at the park – “or until the soup runs out.”
