Roast Beef Dinners and Pancake Suppers coming up in February (4 photos)

Local churches serve up hearty dinners and special events in February.

Bond Head United Church held another Roast Beef dinner on Saturday - once again, at the much larger St. John's Presbyterian Church in Bradford.

It's a tradition that began back when Bond Head United was not handicapped-accessible. The small church now has installed a lift, located at the north entrance, but continues to hold its dinners at St. John's, which has a larger kitchen, and much more room to accommodate the crowds that come out for a great meal of roast beef, mashed potatoes, tunips, vegetables, salad, rolls and home-made pies.

An assembly line of volunteers served up dinner, but diners could choose their own slices of pie, from apple to strawberry-rhubarb, from a dessert table filled end to end.
