The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury and local dignitaries celebrated the grand opening of Red Heart Wine in downtown Bradford on Saturday.
Back in March, Amir Maroofi purchased the business, formerly The Finest Wine Shoppe, located at 105 Holland St. E. and with the help of his family, has transformed the stand-alone building into a one-stop-shop for all your winery needs.
Out front is a large patio beside a fully stocked bar with TV and music for entertainment. In addition to wine, the shop also serves a variety of barbecue foods such as chicken wings, kebobs, hamburgers and hot dogs.
Inside the shop are a new indoor bar and wine-tasting area.
“We offer over 40 different kinds of wine such as reds, whites, rose fruit and dessert styles," said Maroofi's son, Amir Jr.
Maroofi's daughter, Gandom, says the business's main focus is the customer.
"We offer hands-on management to give the best possible customer service," she said.
Besides offering wine-making kits for beginners, they have a full stock of wine accessories for experienced winemakers.
In attendance for the official grand opening event was Mayor Rob Keffer, members of council, MP Scot Davidson, MPP Caroline Mulroney and members of the local business community.
Once the inside tour was complete, Keffer, Mulroney, Davidson and the Board of Trade made presentations of special certificates and welcomed the Maroofi family to the Bradford business community. Attendees then went outside for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony and then joined in on the hors d’oeuvres and food generously provided by the family.
Red Heart Wine is available for dine-in and take-out in Uber Eats, Skip the Dishes and Door Dash.
