There are only three dates remaining for the outdoor Bradford Farmers’ Market, held every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the east parking lot at the BWG Public Library - rain or shine.
The days are getting shorter, the weather more uncertain, and pumpkins, squash and apples are beginning to join the leafy greens, tender fruits and baskets of tomatoes, potatoes and peppers available at the market.
This weekend, Sept. 28, Russ Clayton will entertain shoppers who come out to pick up fresh produce, fresh baking, jams and preserves, Innisfil Creek Honey products, Everything Maple & More sauces and dips, farm-fresh eggs, European and natural meats, Korean Barbecue, Lake Simcoe Coffee, and other products and treats. On Oct. 5, it will be Bluesboy Nicky at the mic, performing the Delta blues.
Oct. 12 is the final day for the outdoor market – a combination Thanksgiving and Harvest Festival, with music by Russ, that will give vendors an opportunity to say goodbye and 'thank you' to their customers.
But not farewell: The Bradford Farmers’ Market will return for four special indoor markets at the Bradford Library, 425 Holland St. West, on Nov. 9 and 30, Dec. 14, and a special Christmas Market on Dec. 21.
The indoor markets will be held in the Zima Room, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – another opportunity to pick up fresh produce, cheeses, meats, and more, and connect with local producers.
