Outdoor Movie Night returns for a final week (5 photos)

This is the final week of Outdoor Movies at the Bradford Library, before the summer break comes to an end.

Outdoor Movie Night returned to the west lawn of the BWG Public Library, this week.

On Tuesday, families gathered to see the animated feature, Wall-E – bringing their lawn chairs, blankets and favourite stuffed animals, as they settled down to watch the film on a big inflatable screen, under the stars.

Waiting for night to fall, there were giant-sized games of checkers and tic-tac-toe to keep the kids amused, and Caleb Gazley, better known as “Mister Twister”, made balloon hats, swords or flowers for every child.

La MexiCanada Restaurant, Emily Dahlgren’s The Munchies Concession - featuring sweet treats from Sweet B’s Confectionery, and an ice cream truck provided the snacks, and there was free popcorn, for a donation to the Drowning Prevention programs of The Lifesaving Society.

Thursday is the final Outdoor Movie Night of the 2019 season. The feature film is Aladdin, starring Will Smith – and the evening will start early, reflecting the shorter days as the end of summer nears.

Families are invited to come by the West Lawn at 425 Holland St. W. starting at 7 p.m., for an evening sponsored by Summerlyn Dental and Oxford Learning. BWG Fire & Emergency Services are special guests – with fire prevention information, games, Jr. fire chief helmets and other give-aways for the kids, a visit from Sparky the Fire Dog, and a fire truck.

Just a note: if the weather is inclement, the event will be moved indoors to the Bradford & District Memorial Community Centre at 125 Simcoe Road.
