Newmarket NHL superstar, captain, scoring champion and MVP Connor McDavid has added a new title to his repertoire: loving husband.
McDavid married Lauren Kyle in July on a private island in Muskoka. The wedding photographs appeared in Australian Vogue magazine, with Kyle also posting photos of the wedding on Instagram.
“Married the love of my life and it was the most perfect weekend I could ever imagine,” Kyle, an interior designer, said Aug. 13.
The wedding photos have been widely circulated across social and news media as the hockey world has celebrated the occasion.
Multiple NHL teammates can be seen as part of the wedding party, along with other friends and family.
Kyle added a video Aug. 14 of the rehearsal dinner, which was “romantic, old money-themed” on a vintage steamship.
The wedding photos on Instagram received more than 141,000 likes on Kyle's Instagram.
“Absolutely beautiful,” one Newmarket-area native said.
“You both looked beyond beautiful. Every aspect of this wedding was done with meaning and love. A true testament,” another fan said.
McDavid is coming off a Stanley Cup finals loss in June, but the Town of Newmarket supported the run with live showings of every Stanley Cup finals game at public spaces.
