Pickleball is a paddleball sport (similar to a racquet sport) that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. The game consists of two or four players using solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, with 26-40 round holes, over a net.
On Friday morning, local pickleball players along with Mayor Rob Keffer celebrated the town's new courts located at the Danube Seniors Leisure Centre with a ribbon cutting grand opening ceremony and non-alcoholic champagne toast.
There are six courts in a fenced compound, complete with gazebo and sitting area.
The courts are free to use by any member of the public, on a first-come-first-served basis, you just need to bring your own equipment.
