Local animal rescue Don’t Furry, Be Happy is holding an animal adoption event at Ren’s Pets in Newmarket this weekend.
The animal rescue will be at the recently opened store on Yonge Street from 12:30 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 7. There will be a number of dogs, cats and other, smaller animals that are available for adoption there, including four dogs named Hope, Sukkara, Smoochie and Amar.
Hope is a two- to three-year-old male Egyptian baladi mix breed located in Newmarket. Sukkara is two-year-old female husky mix located in Bradford. Smoochie is an 11-month-old male Griffon mix located in Pefferlaw. Finally, Amar is a seven-month-old male located in Newmarket.
More details about these dogs, their stories, adoption fees, and information on other available animals is on Don’t Furry, Be Happy’s website.
At the event on Sunday, not only will you have the opportunity to meet and greet with these animals, but you will also have an opportunity to donate to the animal rescue, submit an adoption application, take part in an adoption interview, and shop animal items. Experts will also be on hand to answer any questions you have about fostering, adopting and volunteering.
The Ren’s Pets location where it is being held opened at the end of May as part of the chain’s expansion in Ontario.
