'This is an important opportunity to build community,' says Mayor James Leduc at Sunday afternoon event at Leisure Centre

On Sunday, Mayor James Leduc and members of council hosted the sixth annual Mayor’s New Year’s Levee at the Bradford West Gwillimbury Leisure Centre.

Residents were invited to join council, free of charge, for cake and refreshments as well as skating and performances by local musical entertainers Russ Clayton and Kurtis and the Crosswinds.

“This is community building,” said Leduc. “It’s actually getting the community to know who we are and recognize us. This is an important opportunity to build community.”

The event not only allows the community to connect with council, but it gets family’s together to enjoy what the community has to offer.

“Anytime a family can get together and enjoy the festivities at the leisure centre, that’s what it’s all about,” said Leduc. “Who doesn’t like cake?”

The mayor’s message at the levee was all about connecting and celebrating the new year as Bradford continues to grow and prosper.
