Crafts are back these days, especially for those who are practicing self-isolation. Here’s a “Good Housekeeping”-approved craft idea for those toilet roll tubes you have been collecting, just in time for Mother’s Day:
A Toilet Roll Tube desk organizer, for Mom!
All you need are 9 toilet roll tubes, colourful wrapping paper, scissors, tape or glue, and a small box or box top, to create a desk organizer to hold Mom’s pens, pencils, markers, paperclips and scissors.
Leave 3 toilet roll tubes their original length; cut an inch (2.54 cm) off 3 tubes; and cut 3 more tubes in half.
Wrap each tube in colourful paper, vinyl wrap, or even cloth. Tie with ribbon, if desired.
Take a small box or box lid, large enough to hold all 9 tubes. Cover with paper or cloth and tape or glue down.
Add the tubes – full-sized rolls at the back, shortened rolls in the middle, and half-sized rolls in the front – and glue or tape in place.
Then fill with pencils, pens, markers, and other desk items. The smaller tubes are perfect for holding paper clips or thumbtacks, stamps, erasers, thumb drives, etc.
