The Innisfil Rotary Club’s latest raffle was kind of an inspiration. Only 500 tickets were available at $20 apiece for the chance to win Beer for a Year.
That’s a $50 gift card each week for a year to purchase the beer of choice, or a cash prize of $2,600.
All 500 tickets sold out.
“That’s $7,000 raised for the Rizzardo Health and Wellness Centre,” said Rotarian Al Gilchrist. The new Rizzardo Centre, currently under construction on Innisfil Beach Road at Yonge Street, was chosen by the club to receive all of the proceeds of the raffle.
The winning ticket was drawn at the Oct. 10 meeting of rotary at the Lakeshore Branch of the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library: Ticket No. 14 purchased by Mike Noseworthy.
“Thanks to everyone who was involved in this,” said Gilchrist.
Noseworthy, contacted by Rotarian Jeff Hellings, was apparently still thinking about whether to take the cash — or the beer.
“Got to talk to the wife,” said Hellings.
