Canadian Blood Services is asking local residents to contribute to its efforts to double the number of new daily donors at an upcoming clinic in Bradford.
“The demand for blood and plasma is rising, but there are not enough donors to keep up with the rising patient need. We need to get Canada’s blood pumping,” the organization said.
“Right now, on average across the country, there are about 230 new donors a day. To meet the growing need for blood and plasma, we need to double the number of new donors.”
The clinic will take place Jan. 15 from 2 to 7 p.m. at Holy Martyrs of Japan Church, 167 Essa St.
Appointments are required and can be made at blood.ca.
