Local churches offer hearty dinners, family fun this February

Local churches are welcoming the community, for food and fun this winter. All are welcome at these February events.

Bradford United Church hosts a Ham and Scalloped Dinner, this Saturday, Feb. 1, at the church, 66 Barrie St. in Bradford. Continuous serving from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Tickets are only $16 for adults, $8 for children under 12, for a dinner of ham, famous scalloped potatoes, vegetables, salad, rolls, dessert, tea or coffee. Tickets at the door, or call 905-775-7268 to order in advance or arrange for take-out.

Bond Head United Church will be hosting its Roast Beef Dinner on Saturday, Feb. 8 – at the larger St. John’s Presbyterian Church, 2940 Sideroad 10 in Bradford (at Line 8) – to accommodate the crowds that show up for a great meal of Roast Beef, mashed potatoes, vegetables, salad, rolls, and home-made pie! Price is $20 for adults, $8 for children ages 12 and under. Bradford Community Church is planning a Winter Family Funfest at the Portuguese Cultural Centre, 767 Simcoe Rd. in Bradford, on Monday, Feb. 17, from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., followed by a concert featuring Manic Drive. Free games, prizes, food, cotton candy, popcorn, hot chocolate and more. Tickets available in advance from Eventbrite.ca; at the door, the recommended donation is $5. For more info, click here.

Gilford United Church invites the community to a Roast Beef Dinner, with home-made pies for dessert, on Weds., Feb. 19. Two seatings, at 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults, only $6 for children under 12. Please call 705-458-1145 or email [email protected] to RSVP. 

Pancake Suppers will be taking place at both St. John’s Anglican Church in Cookstown, and St. Peter’s Anglican in Churchill, Innisfil, on Feb. 25 – at St. John’s from 4:30 to 7 p.m., and St. Peter’s from 5 to 7 p.m. Enjoy sausages, pancakes, beverages and dessert, by freewill offering.
