ST. JOHN'S PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

On Sunday, Oct. 20 beginning at 11 a.m., children's author Laura Alary will do a read-aloud and question-and-answer session at St. John's Presbyterian Church.

Alary's books are meant to make you think, wonder, and ask questions. They cover a lot of territory, including science, mythology, stories from the bible, and biographies of people, like Maria Mitchell, who have used their powers of observation and imagination to understand the world around them and the universe beyond them.

Alary's ideas come from many places. Wherever she goes she is on the lookout for things that strike her as intriguing or beautiful. She looks, listens, reads widely, and asks a lot of questions.

At the event on Sunday, Oct. 20 Alary will read a book in the church sanctuary for all ages. She will then accompany the children and worship team to the Settlement Hall where there will be a second read-aloud and age-appropriate activities. There will be snacks for all at about noon.
