Friday evening marked the official grand opening of Bradford Sports Medicine Professionals, a physical therapy clinic located at 160 Holland St.
To celebrate, the team from Bradford Sports Medicine Professionals were joined by York-Simcoe MP Scot Davidson, Mayor Rob Keffer, members of council, and friends and family.
“What a bright and great facility in downtown Bradford,” said Keffer.
“We’ve got a great team with our council here and we’re definitely going to work hard for you,” added Deputy Mayor James Leduc. “Our job is to make sure this is successful as much as possible. You can already tell it’s a great business by the amount of people here to celebrate!”
Davidson made a point to thank Bradford Sports Medicine Professionals for both bringing their services to the area and for creating jobs for Canadians in the process before presenting them with a Canadian flag.
“I’m so excited to be here,” said Davidson. “I represent all of York-Simcoe, and somehow, we’re always doing business openings in Bradford. I love that, and this is a great community and downtown core. We have a great team here in Bradford that are always ready to help businesses and to walk through this building and see how well it’s been renovated… this is what Canada needs right here. I’m proud of this.”
The clinic aims to offer as many services as possible under one roof and has a sports medicine doctor and orthopaedic surgeon. Services include chiropody, shockwave, acupuncture, GLAD rehab, massage therapy, and vestibular rehab.
“There weren’t many physio clinics of this magnitude in this area—the model wasn’t here,” said co-owner and physiotherapist Giacomo Fabrizio. “We also wanted to expand north—we have clinics in Aurora and Nobleton. Having it all under one roof makes it a one stop shop.”
Through the revitalization program, with the help of the town, the Bradford Sports Medicine Professionals turned the building at 160 Holland St.—which used to be an LCBO—into a bright rejuvenated space.
“We want to thank the town for your support in our project,” said co-owner and physiotherapist Mike Pameli. “You know what this building looked like before and we appreciate your involvement with us on the project.”
With clinics south to Aurora and Nobleton, the expansion to Bradford made sense but it became even more of a must with the available location in downtown Bradford.
“We just drove by, and it was for sale and we wanted to expand,” said Fabrizio. “We have a great staff and having such a great staff was a big reason we wanted to expand, along with this being a fantastic location. We’re stoked because it’s a great location and we’re already pleasantly surprised with the sense of community up here.”
Having opened their first clinic over a decade ago, the ability to expand comes down to finding the right community setting.
“What we’ve tried to do is build this multi-disciplinary, single place to get expert premier care,” said Medical Director Dr. Patrick Gamble. “One thing we’ve found up here is that everyone is so welcoming and energetic, we really appreciate that because we spend a lot of time and effort and it’s so nice to see how supportive the community is here.”
The Bradford Board of Trade (BBT) looks after businesses in Bradford West Gwillimbury and helps to promote businesses like Bradford Sports Medicine Professionals.
“We’re so lucky to have such a vibrant business community in Bradford,” said Natasha Leskiw, VP of Public Relations for the BBT. “Each new opening is more promise, more jobs, and more ability to reach those who needs services. We’re happy to have you here!”
