The LEGO Club at the Bradford West Gwillimbury Public Library continues – but it’s a scaled-down version of the club that met during the summer break.
For the Super Summer LEGO Club, up to 100 kids would come out to the Zima Room, undertaking LEGO challenges that included building a marble maze and constructing the tallest tower, for prizes and bragging rights.
This fall, the club will meet twice a month, on Tuesdays from 4-5 p.m. in the Green Room. Kids and caregivers are invited to come out for the free drop-in program to play with the library’s collection of LEGO blocks and kits.
Four-and-a-half-year-old Scarlett was one of those creative kids this past Tuesday.
“She wants to be an artist,” said her mom. “We tell her, you can be an artist, you can be a designer, you can be an architect! You can design buildings. You can build the best bridge. There are so many options!”
Scarlett was busy building her best bridge out of LEGO. The theme for the day was actually Build a Dream Home, but the club is all about kids just being creative, in whatever way they want.
