It’s getting hot in here...Cabana Tan celebrates grand reopening in new space (5 photos)

Cabana Tan has been part of the Bradford business community since 2003

Cabana Tan has moved...but not too far away!

The boutique tanning salon, which has been in business since 2003, has relocated to a bigger space, just a few units down in the plaza located at 157 Holland St. West.

Owner, Jayne Contois, along with her family and staff as well as members of council and the Bradford Board of Trade helped celebrate the new location with an official grand re-opening celebration and ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday afternoon.

Contois purchased the business from its original owners back in 2012 and has been running it ever since.

The salon offers a variety of tanning services from lie down to stand up beds, using state of the art equipment. In the middle of the shop she has a selection of tanning lotions and intensifiers, as well as a variety of women's and men's clothing and accessories.

"We are trying to expand on what people can buy," explained Contois.

Most recently, she has started carrying the popular Henkaa line of convertible dresses, most popular with bridal parties.

"Brides will come with their girls and try them all on and order them," she explained.

MP Scot Davidson popped by on the weekend to give his well wishes and words of support.

"Congratulations again on your re-grand opening," he said.

"Merry Christmas, congratulations and don't take your foot off the gas."

Mayor Rob Keffer presented Contois with a certificate of congratulations on behalf of the town.

"As you work to expand your clientele in this new space, I hope your experiences will be rewarding and profitable," said Mayor Keffer.

Ward 2 Coun. Gary Baynes commended Contois on her efforts in updating her space.

"Small business is the key, you moving here and moving into a bigger and better premises," he said, noting that the updates to her salon, along with other businesses nearby who have upgraded into new spaces, help with the revitalization of Bradford's downtown.

"Congratulations, all the best and to many many more (years)."

Contoi's husband, Coun. Mark Contois, spoke next, commending his wife for all her hard work and efforts with running her own business.

"I am very proud of what she's done, she's a hard worker and it shows," he beamed.

Deputy Mayor James Leduc noted it's been great to see Cabana Tan's success over the years.

"It's small businesses like yourself that helps our community in everything from jobs to the economy, so thank you very much for your efforts," he said.

"And I look forward to my next tan."
