NEWS RELEASE
HELPING HAND FOOD BANK
*************************
In November, Tim Hortons kicked off the holiday season with smiles and kindness with its first-ever national Holiday Smile Cookie campaign.
A total of $10,978.74 was raised via sales of the white chocolate chip sugar cookie at all Bradford locations, with $5,489.37 going to both Bradford’s Helping Hand Food Bank and Tim Hortons Foundation Camps.
“Food bank use across the country is at a crisis level,” says Carolyn Khan, executive director of the Helping Hand Food Bank. “We are so grateful to Tim Hortons for selecting us as a recipient charity for their inaugural Holiday Smile Cookie campaign and to everyone in our community who purchased a cookie. These funds will go straight to work helping to put food in the hands of more than 1,500 individuals right here in Bradford.”
Bradford’s Helping Hand Food Bank has seen a 300 per cent increase in use since 2020, and a 60 per cent increase this year so far. As the holiday season approaches, this demand will increase even more.
