Confused? Not sure which direction to take? Wondering about a future career? Interested in a skilled trade?
There will be a free Youth Career Workshop at the EPIC Social Innovation & Training Hub in Bond Head (4208 County Rd. 88) on Tuesday, Aug. 13. The goal: to stimulate thinking, broaden perspectives and provide career choice guidance, for high school students wondering about their options.
The all-day workshop, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., will include a session on youth employment challenges, information on local job markets, and what local employers are looking for.
The workshop also includes an introduction to skilled trades, and a hands-on opportunity to try woodworking, building a bird feeder or bird house to take home.
Free, but please register by calling 416-726-3252, or email [email protected].
Transportation will be provided to the EPIC Hub, from the BWG Public Library at 425 Holland St. W., returning at 4 p.m. Participants are asked to bring a lunch.
The workshop promises to be fun and informative, offering guidance on making positive career choices. Space is limited, so register soon.
