Doing a little Sunday shopping? Don’t forget that the Bradford Bulldogs Novice and Atom Rep teams will be partnering with Zehr’s Market in Bradford to host a food drive for the Helping Hand Food Bank.
On Oct. 27, players with the Minor and Major Novice and Atom teams – wearing their jerseys – will be at Zehrs, urging shoppers to donate non-perishable food or cash to the food bank.
Minor Novices will be out from 8 to 10 a.m., Minor Atoms from 10 a.m. to noon, Major Atoms from noon to 2 p.m., and the Major Novices from 2 to 4 p.m.
This is the second year of the initiative. “We are trying so hard to keep them involved and grateful,” said Amy Lynn, Events Director with the Bulldogs. “The boys learned so much last year from the experience of collecting donations and stocking the shelves at the food bank that they were eager to help out their community again.”
The teams are hoping the community will come out and support the food bank – and support the teams, by cheering on the Bulldogs at local games.
“The Bradford community and businesses are very generous with their support of the Bulldogs, and we want to make sure that we are giving back and helping others as much as possible,” said Lynn.
