Halibut House is officially open for business.
The grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony was held at 10:30 a.m. this morning with the mayor, members of council and the Bradford Board of Trade.
This is owner, Khurram Khawaja's third Halibut House franchise. He also owns a locations in Barrie and Hamilton.
He is excited to have expanded into the Bradford market.
"It's an upcoming city and community, and I wanted to be part of it," he said.
Mayor Rob Keffer handed a letter of congratulations to Khawaja noting the big bright signage on the building that could be seen from a far.
"This is a great location," said Mayor Rob Keffer.
"Congratulations and we wish you all the best."
Bradford Board of Trade member, Ryan Charron was also in attendance to present a certificate of congratulations as well.
The restaurant is open 365 days a year, offering classic fish and chips and breakfast items like eggs and panckakes as well.
Just for today the restaurant is offering a buy one get one free promotion on their halibut, which Khawaja says "usually never goes on sale."
The store is located at 494 Holland St. West near the Zehrs plaza and open until 9 p.m. tonight.
