GO VAXX bus makes stop at Innisfil Canadian Tire

Clinic running until 3 p.m.

A GO Bus became a COVID-19 Mobile vaccination clinic on Sunday, pulling into the parking lot at the Alcona Canadian Tire Store at 9 a.m.

For the next six hours, residents were invited to book an appointment or walk-in for a first, second or booster shot, even as Omicron case numbers in Ontario remain high.

By 1 p.m., between 40 and 50 people had taken advantage of the free mobile clinic, said Paul Jackson, who was on hand to provide security and ensure attendees were properly masked and following COVID protocols.

“Whether it’s first, second, third shot – they don’t really mind. It’s just get as many people vaccinated as you can,” Jackson said.

He indicated that some people who stopped by weren’t aware that the clinic was being offered in the parking lot, adjacent to the Queen Poutine food truck.

“A few have asked questions,” he said. “They’ve said they’ll be back later.”

The clinic continues until 3 p.m.
