Wow, the last few days were sure cold, snowy and perhaps an indication Old Man Winter isn't done with us yet.

But there may be no clearer indication that we all want spring to be underway than this weekend’s community event calendar. From an Easter Bunny visit to a forum based primarily around the love of gardening, we’re all thinking about the rejuvenation, green grass and flowers of the months ahead.

Here’s what’s happening in Bradford and Innisfil on Saturday and Sunday:

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny

The Bradford Lions Club will host this meal at the Bradford Community Centre, 125 Simcoe Rd., Saturday, March 23 from 8 a.m. to noon. Adult admission is $5 and kids eat free with a donation of a non-perishable food item. All proceeds benefit the Bradford Community Fridge initiative. Participants are encouraged to bring their cameras. Further information can be found at calendar.townofbwg.com.

Easter egg hunt

Join members of the Royal Canadian Legion’s Belle Ewart branch for an Easter egg hunt, arts, crafts, face painting and prizes Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Entry is free with a food donation. The legion is at 1017 Robinson St

Seedy Saturday returns

The Innisfil ideaLAB and Library will host the seventh annual Seedy Saturday, which brings together new and seasoned gardeners, seed savers and community members passionate about mindful gardening, food security and the environment. This event includes seed vendors and garden-related community groups and businesses, and it runs at the library’s Lakeshore branch (967 Innisfil Beach Rd.) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more details, visit innisfilseedlibrary.ca, call 705-431-7410 or email [email protected].

Holi Hungama

Portuguese Cultural Centre of Bradford will host this event in honour of Holi, the Festival of Colours, Sunday, March 24 from noon to 5 p.m. The event is billed as a celebration that transcends cultural boundaries, bringing people together in a spirit of joy and harmony. The centre is at 767 Simcoe Rd. Find more details at calendar.townofbwg.com.

BWG Music and Poetry Circle

What's a music and poetry circle? Come see for yourself at the Bradford library on Sunday, from 2 to 4 p.m. Bring a song, an instrument or a piece of poetry. You can also just sit, relax and enjoy as neighbours share something they're working on. All ages and experience levels are welcome. Further information can be found at calendar.townofbwg.com.
