The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury was the place to be on Canada Day.

The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury was the place to be on Canada Day.

Its action-packed event at the Bradford and District Memorial Community Centre on Monday evening included the handing out of several civic awards, as well as busker performances from Bex in Motion and Rockabilly Joe, and dance routines from Elite Dance Corps. Blue Rodeo tribute band True Rodeo took to the main stage.

There was also a kids zone with inflatable slides, obstacle courses and games, and visitors could also get a non-permanent airbrush or glitter tattoo, and take some selfies at the chalkboard station or the photo frame.

A firework show capped off the night.

Roughly 15,000 people were estimated to have attended the six-hour event.
