TECUMSETH AND WEST GWILLIMBURY HISTORICAL SOCIETY

On Sept. 16, the historical society was proud to present seasoned Archaeologist and Paleoethnobotanist, Rudy Fecteau. Mr. Fecteau, of Dundas, Ont., who has spent decades studying the plant resources available to Indigenous peoples used by Euro-Canadians for food, tools and construction.
Mr. Fecteau gave a lively and interesting talk that included photos, informative slides and a selection of rare artifacts. Mr. Fecteau’s unique specialization has aided in the creation of more complete and accurate archaeological records of the many sites he’s worked on.
On Oct. 21, 2019 at 7:30 p.m., Tecumseth and West Gwillimbury Historical Society is hosting A FIRESIDE CHAT: Newton Robinson and Area Remembered.
The Tecumseth and West Gwillimbury Historical Society welcomes you to take a walk down memory lane and delve into the past history of Newton Robinson and the surrounding area. With almost 500 years of history between them, join us as Nancy Bell, Doug Jebb, Bob Sturgeon, Bill Vernon, Lloyd West, and Charlie Wilcox regale us with stories from the past.
Non-members are welcome to attend for a $5 fee per meeting or can purchase an annual membership for $20 (individual) and $30 (family). All meetings end with delicious homemade refreshments and friendly conversation.
