In Tuesday night's town council meeting, Bradford West Gwillimbury's Fire Chief Kevin Gallant, was commended by town staff and council for his 30 Year Fire Services Exemplary Service Medal from the Governer General of Canada.
The medal recognizes members of a Canadian fire service who have completed at least 20 years of service, 10 of which have been served in performing duties involving potential risks. A bar with a silver leaf is added for every ten years of service.
Over the past three decades, Gallant has served in the communities of Mississauga, The Town of Erin, and BWG.
