Fallen local officers honoured with Memorial Run to Remember

Event paid tribute to Const. Morgan Russell and Const. Devon Northrup, who were killed while in the line of duty on Oct. 11, 2022

More than 40 members of the South Simcoe Police Service participated in the local Memorial Run to Remember in honour of its fallen officers.

The local kick-off to the Canadian National Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial ‘Run to Remember’ is an opportunity for service members, their family, and friends to pay tribute to Const. Morgan Russell and Const. Devon Northrup with a run/walk close to home.

The event started at the South Division in Bradford and paused for a moment of silence at the new Constable Devon Northrup Memorial Park, and the Alan Kuzmich Memorial Park, named for fallen South Simcoe Police Service officer Constable Alan Kuzmich, who died in the line of duty on Aug. 21, 2002.

The participants donned bright red Run to Remember shirts and proudly ran and walked for four kilometres as a tribute to Russell and Northrup, who were killed in the line of duty last Oct. 11.
