Fire crews were called to the scene of a structure fire at 94 Professor Day Drive at around 2 a.m. Monday morning.
Upon arrival crews found the garage fully involved in fire with smoke on the inside of the structure. Crews protected the residences on either side prior to entering the structure. Crews were advised that the residents of the home have evacuated. The residents of 92 to 96 Professor Drive were asked to evacuate.
The fire was brought under control at approximately 5 a.m.
BWG Deputy Fire Chief Olaf Lamerz said the structure is a total loss, with heavy damage to the main floor and part of the second floor.
The garage also sustained heavy fire damage. Two vehicles were also lost as part of the incident, one in the garage and one just outside the garage.
There was also minor damage to the eave and soffit of 96 Professor Day Drive.
All together, 19 firefighters, five apparatuses and two utility vehicles were on scene to extinguish the flames.
The Office of the Fire Marshal has been notified due to the value of the home, and should be in contact with Bradford West Gwillilbury Fire and Emergency Services sometime this morning.
"Crews did an excellent job protecting exposures and extinguishing the fire," said Lamerz.
