Evolve Zumba with Amber celebrated their two year anniversary on Monday night with cake, balloons and of course, dancing!
Amber Harris-Carniello started teaching the Latin inspired dance classes Family Day weekend 2018, and has been every Monday evening at Green Valley Alliance Church ever since.
She and about 15 other women come together for a high energy, low impact cardio, 45 minute session of dance combinations.
The class has been consistent with a group of regulars and some newbies popping in for the odd class.
Pamela Pereira took her first class on Monday and was pleasantly surprised with the sweat she worked up. She doesn't typically partake in dance classes but wanted to support her friend Harris-Carniello.
"It was fun!" she shared about the experience.
Teresa Aukema has been dancing with the group since it first started, and recently came back to class after having her first baby.
"The moment I could come back I did," noting how much she missed the weekly workout.
Maggie DiPoce, another class participant, said she loves coming to the class filled with inspiring women. "You're with women and supporting working women too," she noted.
Jennifer Lloyd has been coming to the class ever since Harris-Carniello came by to teach at the Bradford Women's+ Group event this past summer at the BWG Library.
"One thing I really like is even you're not doing the right moves, it's just about having fun and moving your body," she said.
Harris-Carniello is a mother of two and in addition to Zumba, also has runs her own in home hair salon, Hair by Amber.
An emotional Harris-Carniello thanked the group of ladies for joining her on her Zumba journey over the years.
"I feel honoured to be embraced by Bradford women so lovingly to support me for the past two years," she said.
In the future, Harris-Carniello is hoping to add a children's Zumba class to her schedule as she continues to build her Zumba business.
