York-Simcoe MP Scot Davidson has been given a post in the Conservative shadow cabinet.

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre has appointed Davidson as shadow minister for red tape reduction.

“I am thrilled to be named Opposition shadow minister for red tape reduction, where I will focus my efforts on making sure government gets out of the way of Canadians — especially the hard-working small businesses in this country,” Davidson said in a statement. “As a former small business owner myself, I know how difficult it can be to be successful and innovate when burdened by needless government regulations. I look forward to working with Pierre Poilievre and the rest of our Conservative team to stand up for Canadians and drive our country forward.”
