There will be no GO train service on the Barrie Line this weekend.

Trains will stop running at 10 p.m. on Friday, October 25 and service will stay suspended throughout the weekend of Saturday, Oct. 26 and Sunday, Oct. 27.

Replacement buses will take passengers between Highway 407 Bus Terminal and Barrie Bus Terminal, stopping at all the regular train stations with two exceptions:

  • from Friday at 10 p.m. through Sunday, replacement buses will not stop at Downsview GO; and
  • on Saturday and Sunday, replacement buses will not stop at the Union Station Bus Terminal

Customers travelling to or from Union Station or Downsview Park GO can connect at Highway 407 Station via TTC Line 1 (Yonge-University).

The disruption is due to continuing work to install and maintain culverts in preparation for adding a second track to the Barrie Line.

“This work can only be done when service is modified,” explained Metrolinx Media Relations in a news release.
