Firefighters from Bradford and King were called to a grass fire Saturday afternoon on Line 6 in Bradford West Gwillimbury, east of Highway 27.
Upon arrival, they discovered rubbish piles left over from the demolition of old farm outbuildings left to burn unmonitored by the property owners.
This resulted in a grass fire whipped up by the wind that came in Saturday afternoon.
Eight vehicles from the two fire stations were brought to extinguish the grass fires and rubbish piles.
