Nicholas Adema, of Innisfil, won $100,000 in the Dec. 25 Lotto 6/49 Super Draw.

A Christmas gift from his father turned into a $100,000 payday for an Innisfil man.

Nicholas Adema, 39, was given a Lotto 6/49 ticket by his dad, and it turned out to be a winner as he claimed the Super Draw prize in the Dec. 25 draw.

“I was at home when I decided to check my Lotto 6/49 ticket on the OLG app,” Adema said in an OLG news release. “When I saw the winning message and prize amount, I was left in disbelief. I had to scan my ticket several times to make sure I was seeing it right. I was shocked.”

He described his win as “a surreal experience.”

“It’s one of those things that words can’t describe.”

Adema plans to save his winnings.

The winning ticket was purchased at The Neighbourhood Market on Yonge Street in Holland Landing.
