The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris

The Tattooist of Auschwitz has been extremely popular in print format at the BWG Library since it was published in 2018. Overdrive now offers the book in eAudio, read by actor Richard Armitage. Here’s how the publisher describes it: This beautiful, illuminating tale of hope and courage is based on interviews that were conducted with Holocaust survivor and Auschwitz-Birkenau tattooist Ludwig (Lale) Sokolov—an unforgettable love story in the midst of atrocity.

American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins

Everyone has been talking about this book, including Oprah! The story of a Mexican bookstore owner fleeing a wrathful drug cartel chief with her eight-year-old son has raised much controversy and meaningful discussion about the importance of own voices writers and whether authors should write characters and stories from outside of their own cultural experience. Make up your own mind after listening to this eAudiobook.

The Vagina Bible by Dr Jen Gunter

Fresh off the Globe and Mail Bestseller List, from Canadian OB/GYN, women's health advocate and New York Times columnist Dr. Jen Gunter, The Vagina Bible is a comprehensive, accessible antidote to the maelstrom of misinformation around female sexual health and the ultimate guide to everything a person needs to know about the vagina and vulva. Available as an eBook.  Miss Andrea highly recommends this book!

Girl, Woman, Other by Bernardine Evaristo

From one of Britain's most celebrated writers of colour, Girl, Woman, Other is a magnificent portrayal of the intersections of identity.  It is a moving and hopeful story of an interconnected group of Black British women. Winner of the 2019 Book Prize. Available as an eBook.

Three Women by Lisa Taddeo

Desire - It thrills us and torments us. It controls our thoughts, destroys our lives and it’s all we live for. Yet we almost never speak of it. And as a buried force in our lives, desire remains largely unexplored—until now. Over the past eight years, journalist Lisa Taddeo has driven across the country six times to embed herself with ordinary women from different regions and backgrounds. The result, Three Women, is the deepest nonfiction portrait of desire ever written. Borrow this eBook and explore your desire.

You are a Badass by Jen Sincero

Another title that has been very popular in print at the BWG Library, especially with Larissa at the Library, You are a Badass is available to borrow as an eBook. In this refreshingly entertaining how-to guide, bestselling author and world-traveling success coach Jen Sincero serves up 27 bitesize chapters full of hilariously inspiring stories, sage advice, easy exercises and the occasional swear word, helping you to: Identify and change the self-sabotaging beliefs and behaviors that stop you from getting what you want, create a life you totally love and create it NOW.  Check out your copy of You are a Badass and ‘make some damn money already…the kind you’ve never made before.’
