To celebrate International Seniors Day yesterday, Holland Gardens Retirement Residence hosted a pancake breakfast, along with entertainment and an opportunity to shop.
And it was the more the merrier, with the residence inviting 50 members from the Danube Seniors Centre to join in the fun.
“Traditionally, they had one at the Danube, but they didn’t do it this year so we invited them here,” said Shelley Snoulten, Sales and Marketing Manager for Holland Gardens.
“It was a nice invitation and opportunity to eat and socialize,” said Danube member, Toddy Langton.
Members from both centres mingled, enjoyed the live singer and little vendors set up in the main foyer.
Guests were invited to fill in a ballot to win a gift basket of goodies upon arrival as well.
“It was delicious,” said Holland Gardens resident, Alice Showers of the breakfast.
Holland Gardens Retirement Residence opened just under a year ago and is located just across the street from the Smart Centre Plaza near 10th Side Rd. and Holland St. West.
