Cadets’ Corner is a weekly column submitted by the 37 Orville Hand air cadets group.
Lt.(N) Reilly, Regional Cadet Support Unit, Central Ontario area, zone training officer, was present for Thursday’s parade night to see the growth and form-up of the 37 Orville Hand Air Cadet Squadron.
He said he was proud of what the squadron is growing into and told the WO2s not to stress about anything because it will come with time.
Some of the lessons that were being taught by Level 4 and Level 5 cadets were polishing boots, aerospace, leadership, and drill. Both flights are looking strong in their execution of drill, making the entire squadron look strong together.
Saturday, March 4, a mandatory exercise is planned at CFB Trenton to visit the National Air Force Museum of Canada. Cadets will tour the museum that also includes more than 35 aircraft on the grounds. Cadets will take part in aviation technology and air force history, which complement the air cadet program. Some of the cadets have never stepped foot on a Royal Canadian Air Force base and will surely feel the honour and pride of being there.
What do cadets do?
Cadets are teenagers like you who take part in activities at cadet units within their local community. These activities are designed to help you to become more self-confident, to develop your leadership skills, to improve your physical fitness and communication skills, and to teach you self-discipline through challenging training.
