Cadets’ Corner is a weekly column submitted by the 37 Orville Hand air cadets group.
The Royal Canadian Legion has a long and valued partnership with Cadets Canada.
The cadets program fosters youth leadership, citizenship, and volunteerism and promotes Canadian and military values.
Cadets volunteer to help the legion with the poppy campaign, support our veterans and take active roles in commemorative ceremonies across Canada. These young men and women play a vital role in supporting legion activities and promoting remembrance.
A great example of this support, leadership and volunteerism was 37 Orville Hand air cadets showing their respect for those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the First and Second World Wars, marching proudly with the Royal Canadian Legion executive members as well as local veterans and dignitaries.
Air Cadet Flight Sgt. Charlotte Lotter and Cadet Sgt. Jonathan Troke stood guard at the cenotaph while the other cadets marched through town, led by Second Lt. Chow and Cadet Flight Sgt. Noah Sellers on Sunday's Remembrance Day parade in Bradford.
“It was a memory I will have forever, to march down the streets of my town with these people and honour veterans,” said one cadet after the ceremony.
