A flag raising ceremony was held Friday evening in Bradford West Gwillimbury to commemorate the one year anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Members of the public, along with Mayor James Leduc, members of council and other dignitaries joined the Ukrainian community in an emotional show of support.
Candles were lit and passed around to those who attended to pay tribute to the courage of the Ukrainian people, and to honour the memory of the thousands of innocent people murdered by Russia's genocidal war of aggression against Ukraine.
The ceremony was one of a number of events held in cities across the country to mark the sombre milestone.
