Bradford United Church back on track with monthly yard sales (6 photos)

The monthly sales are back for 2020!

It was the first indoor yard sale of the year at Bradford United Church last Saturday, with deal finders from all over the area coming in to scout out the latest finds.

Church volunteer, Louise Desjardins says the sales, formerly known as Treasure Sales, are fun and a good way to find a deal.

The sales are held once a month and all items are either donated by church members or the public. There are no prices on the items; any monetary donation is accepted in exchange for a unique, one of a kind treasure.

It has been a five year+ tradition for the church, as a way to raise money for the church bills and programs.

Deal finder Tracey Crosby from Cookstown is a regular visitor of the sales, who enjoys coming down with her friend Wendy every month to scour the aisles for hidden treasures.

"We bring a coffee, and mosy around and then we'll find treasures," she said.

"It's a treasure trove, so we have no idea what we are going to come and find, and that's what we love."

The pair have teenage children in university and over the past few years have been able to find great deals on things like cutlery, crockery and electrical goods.

"And they are always in brilliant condition," she boasted.

The next indoor yard sale will be held on Saturday Feb. 22 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 66 Barrie St.

If you have household items to donate that are clean and in good condition, please call the church at 905-775-7268 or email [email protected] to arrange a drop-off time.  Unfortunately clothes, TVs or large furniture cannot be accepted.
