What’s better than a cookie that tastes good? A cookie that does good! Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign is back supporting charities in communities across the country, including CHATS-Community & Home Assistance to Seniors, one of 550 Canadian charities, hospitals and community programs supported through the annual campaign.

In 2019, the Smile Cookie campaign raised a record $9.8 million across Canada.

This year, all Tim Hortons restaurants in Bradford-West Gwillimbury are supporting CHATS-Community & Home Assistance to Seniors. For one week, from September 14 – 20, Bradford Tim Horton’s locations will donate the full $1 from every freshly baked chocolate chunk Smile Cookie purchased to support CHATS and seniors in our community.

“Volunteers and staff at CHATS are absolutely thrilled to be selected again as the designated charity for Bradford Tim Horton’s Smile Cookie campaign," said Christina Bisnaz, CEO, CHATS.  "It’s very gratifying to receive this continued support and recognition. Smiles are a wonderful thing in life. The pandemic has been a difficult time for many seniors in our community. CHATS staff and volunteers have worked tirelessly throughout the course of the pandemic to continue to bring a smile to the faces of our clients and caregivers."

"A simple smile shared around is a powerful force that helps everyone feel good. We hope all CHATS supporters and cookie lovers will order Smile Cookies from any of the four Bradford Tim Hortons locations between September 14th and 20th.”

This is the sixth year in a row that the owners and brothers Perry and Jack Thornton of the four Bradford Tim Hortons locations will be donating the proceeds of from the cookies to CHATS. Last year, they raised a total of $10,470 for the cause.

“A dollar can truly make a difference. It’s a pleasure to partner with CHATS-Community & Home Assistance to Seniors and support their impactful work," said Jack Thornton. "Through the generosity of our guests, we are able to help seniors in the community and we’re very grateful for that. Our team members craft each Smile Cookie with care and are very proud to serve them to our guests who want to support such a great cause.”

The Smile Cookie Campaign began in 1996 to help raise funds for the Hamilton Children’s Hospital in Ontario and has grown to become a major fundraising event at Tim Hortons Restaurants.

“The real magic behind the Smile Cookie Campaign is the local impact and we’re excited to be able to support local charities, hospitals and community programs again this year," said Mike Hancock, Chief Operating Officer for Tim Hortons. "Our guests, restaurant owners and their team members can feel incredibly proud knowing that the money raised during the campaign directly supports local Tim Hortons communities.”
