Some of Bradford's most notable people were formally recognized during Canada's latest birthday bash.
As part of the town's annual Canada Day celebrations held at the Bradford and District Memorial Community Centre on Monday evening, municipal officials handed out several civic awards. From great sporting accomplishments and acts of heroism to community building and incredible volunteerism, many residents have shown a willingness and desire to go above and beyond to achieve their goals.
Among those honoured included:
- Gavin Maclean (Citizen of the Year)
- Neil and Ellen Rombough (Community Builder Award)
- Elke Pitkin (Senior of the Year)
- Michael Nadon (Volunteer of the Year)
- Music In Motion Performing Arts' Triple Threat squad (Sports Team of the Year)
- Niki Tokhi (Junior Citizen of the Year)
- Daniel Murray and Blake Fregeau (Sports Achievement)
- Sujay Sunny and Stephanie Gillard (Bravery Award)
- Bradford Wolves Soccer Club (Organization of the Year)
