Bradford's Helping Hand Food Bank is still open and serving clients, despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Carolyn Khan, Vice President of the food bank says they have noticed a decrease in client visits over the past month and want the community to know they are still operating as usual.
"We have found that we aren’t seeing the large number of clients that we used to have in the past, so we are trying to get the word out that the food bank is still open," she explained. "We are a bit surprised that we aren't seeing a greater number of people coming."
Volunteers are currently working to reach out to all their senior clients to see if they need any assistance with accessing the food bank.
The food bank is open three days a week and continues to welcome new and existing clients. All that is required is a piece of ID for all family members in the household, as well as a proof of address.
Anyone looking to make a donation to the food bank is asked to either send an electronic money transfer or cheque.
"Donations are still quite steady, which is absolutely amazing," said Khan. "We live in the best town for generous residents and businesses!"
The Helping Hand Food Bank is located at 123 Moore St. in Bradford. They are open three days a week: Mondays and Wednesdays from 1 - 2 p.m. and Fridays from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
